East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s fostering team is holding a drop-in event in Driffield to encourage more people to consider becoming foster carers. The council is looking to recruit new foster carers particularly for children aged from five to 15. Members of the fostering team will be on hand in the library section of the Driffield Centre at Cross Hill on Thursday 16th February from 9:30am to 12:30 pm. People interested in fostering will be able to pick up information and find out what is involved. Dave Glenville, the council’s fostering team leader, said: “We are particularly looking for people who care about children and young people who need help, care and support at difficult times in their lives. “Foster carers and their families are exceptional people. If you have the desire to help and can give the time, energy and commitment, we strongly recommend you to come along to the drop-in events and find out how you can become involved in the much needed and highly worthwhile role as foster carer for East Riding children.” Anyone interested in finding more can contact [email protected] or tel (01482) 396469.
